We have another quiet week on crowdfunding, with 10 projects launching over on Kickstarter in the next 7 days. With Christmas coming soon I'm more than happy with a few slow weeks to save some pennies. Runar looks cool, so I will definitely be taking a look at that when it launches. I think my money is safe this week, but you never know what's round the corner.
Remember to back with your head and not your heart, know your limits and your budget.
Happy gaming.
“We must stop our search; the Genesis can’t go on anymore; let’s begin the emergency procedure to land on this planet” Captain Achab orders to deploy the escape pods, while the hull of the ship is broken into scorching fragments as it enters the atmosphere. ...Thousands of years later... “They saw The Dreki of Odin and the other Gods in the grey sky. They came to save the beloved Mannheimr from the bloody invasion of the Jotunn. The Gods came down from the sacred ship, gliding on their shields, surrounded by flaming embers. I spent my whole life looking for the place where they landed and where the battle took place, I’m finally sure I found it!” The sound of the horns cuts off the old Alfarinn. The Drekar from each clan depart the Roskilde harbor, bringing on board the most valiant and skilful heroes. The hunt for the mysterious Runic Gems, fragments of divine power, has just begun!
Runar is a competitive board game for 1-4 players. Each player leads a group of three Viking Heroes who must survive the icy northern lands - populated by strange and dangerous creatures - while attempting to recover mythical Runic Gems and precious divine objects.
Opposing Heroes will stand in your way as your Vikings try to prove their worth to the Asgardian Gods, hoping to be chosen to fight alongside them in the final battle. A Runar campaign unfolds over five games in which players will face gradually more complex and always different scenarios. Each player will use their Actions Deck, made up of the cards of each of their three Heroes, to activate the Vikings under their control, influence the course of the game, and unleash their powerful Skills and Talents.
By taking advantage of the Tactics at their disposal, each player can best deploy their forces and manipulate their Actions Deck to best predict and respond to their opponent's actions. At the end of each game, the Heroes will evolve and gain upgrades in the form of powerful magical items and divine artefacts. By the time the last game is reached, each player must have prepared their Vikings to the best of their ability to prove that they are leading the most valiant group of Heroes.

2-6 players take turns being good rangers, nasty poachers or curious tourists, each of whom has different reasons for being in the jungle.
The Poacher will hunt the DOUCs, putting them in danger. Which in turn puts pressure on the Ranger. The Ranger will risk it all to save DOUCs. Each unsaved DOUC is considered lost, and will have a negative effect on end-game scoring. The Tourists will choose how they approach the DOUCs. Whether they save the DOUCs or put them in danger lies in their hands!
The player with the fewest lost DOUCs after the game wins.
Before starting each game the players must decide how difficult to make their game, as determined by the 3 DANGER LEVELs. Players may choose a single DANGER LEVEL, or they may mix and match DANGER LEVELs in each month of their game.
Each DANGER LEVEL adds new mechanisms and strategic depth to the game.
DOUC IN DANGER supports projects for the conservation of red-shanked DOUCs. It's a new kind of species protection!

Welcome, city planners! Design the best city block using patterns from the new and exciting "Cube Shaker". You'll place a mix of tiles to help grow the thriving city. The best design wins the game!
Shake That City is a family puzzly tile-laying game for 1-4 players, that plays under an hour! The game is played over a series of rounds. The active player shakes the Cube Shaker and presses its slider to reveal a 3x3 pattern, based on which they need to place the corresponding building tiles of a single colour of their choice on their board. The building tiles correspond to roads, factories, shops, parks and of course, homes. The other players then pick any building colour other than the one the active player picked, then place matching coloured tiles in the matching pattern on their board. Players earn points for tile-placement combinations and for the completed bonus point tiles around the edge of their board.
• Roads wants to connect to an edge of the board. • Factories wants to be next to other factories and roads. • Homes want to be placed in clusters that are as small as possible — the smallest being a single tile — so long as they're not next to a factory. • Parks wants to be next to homes and factories. • Shops score increasingly more the closer they are placed to the city centre, but if they're not placed on an edge, they need to be adjacent to a road connected to the board's edge in order to score. Without road access, you'll have no products to sell!
At game's end, players earn points for tile-placement combinations and for the completed bonus point tiles around the edge of their board.
Each person has different elements of their personality, from introversion and extroversion; to different types of temperament, from composed to volatile. In Emotional Intelligence, each player becomes a personality detective, and aims to deduce the personality traits of the other players before their own personality is revealed. The catch: players can only provide subjective This or That clues regarding their personality type. The result is a fast-paced, sometimes contentious social deduction game perfect for players looking for both mystery and social examination.
HOW IT WORKS:
You’re given a unique personality at the beginning of the game - you will play from the perspective of this personality for duration of the game. Every turn, you will take turns asking other players to answer This or That questions based on one element of your given personality. The clues, which are subjective This or That answers, may only be as helpful as how well you know the person. Is seeing the future Volatile or (K)omposed? Up to you!
You will be given a Deduction Pad, where you will jot down your notes and make your decisions on whether another player is more Extroverted or Introverted, Logical or EMpathetic, Concrete or Abstract, or Volatile or (K)omposed. Once you’re sure about all 4 elements of another player’s personality, you can instigate guessing their personality. Everyone else will guess as well, but you will get double the points for each correct guess. Additionally, you get points when other people correctly guess your personality, so it's a win-win!
The game ends when everyone's personality has been investigated. The winner is the player with the most points.
Raise merry hell with the legendary operators of the Special Air Service!
SAS: Rogue Regiment is a WW2 stealth action game for 1-4 players. Taking on the role of SAS soldiers in the pivotal weeks following D-Day, players must carry out acts of sabotage deep behind enemy lines.
Ambush convoys, assassinate high ranking officers, destroy ammo dumps and much, much more in your four man campaign against the Axis war machine!
Strike from the shadows! Take down enemy patrols and sentries with the vast array of tools at your disposal, from rifles, explosives and grenades to vehicles, traps and your trusty fighting knife.
Leave no trace! Move quickly and quietly to complete your objectives. Kill silently and hide the bodies to avoid detection. Get spotted, make too much noise or take too long to carry out your objective and the enemy will raise the alarm. Your heavily outnumbered team won’t last long in a firefight so when the attack comes, make sure you’re in position to make four men feel like a hundred!
Gameplay Each turn, every SAS operator has 4 action points which they can use to move, shoot and carry out tasks. During the "stealth phase" of the game, enemy movement is dictated by patrol lines, sentry points and an event card which is drawn each turn. Each mission has a stealth meter which will slowly fill each time the players arouse suspicion (firing weapons, leaving bodies out in the open etc.) If the stealth meter completely fills the players are detected & the alarm will sound, triggering the "battle phase". The aim of the game is to carry out the mission objective and escape the area unscathed, the easiest way to do this is to avoid detection for as long as possible.
