Welcome back after a lovely December. I hope you all had a good time over the holiday season. It's great to be back with some new Kickstarter and Gamefound projects.
After a quiet month, things are really heating back up on the Crowd funding stage. Its a great start to the year although I fear for my wallet already.
Have a look and leave a comment if any grab your attention.
During the Tang dynasty, Chang'an was one of the largest cities in the world. It was a cosmopolitan urban center with thousands of travelers exploring it. As an important urbanist, compete against other players to build the best districts of Chang'an and to get the favors of the court.
Players will carefully project their plans by placing cards on the top part of their personal boards (the gates). Then they will move them into the city districts to build amazing buildings and to welcome influential characters in the neighborhood. Every new card built into the districts will provide players with different types of privileges and a certain number of victory points.
During your turn, you perform only one of the three main actions: research, play and/or move cards on the gates to produce resources and activate character effects, or build.
The game ends as soon as a player gets nine or more cards built in the districts of their City board (cards at the gates are not considered).
The player with the most victory points will be declared the best urbanist of Chang’an.
In Yucatan, you are the leader of a Mayan city. You have promised your people to win the favors of the Gods, and their fate is in your hands. Send your warlords to capture enemies, increase your might with every season of the sacred calendar, and sacrifice your prisoners to the Mayan gods to ensure your dominance.
Your warlords will become more and more formidable, your city more and more glorious, but your opponents do the same, so enlisting the help of the mythological creatures and heroes will be necessary to try to restore with blood, the energy of your gods.
In this game, your goal is to capture prisoners, and the Yucatan peninsula is your playground. Prepare for four seasons of fierce fighting. At the end of each season, you will ritually sacrifice captured enemies to gain reputation, but be careful because the gods are demanding: Each of your sacrifices must be more glorious than the last. Each decision matters in the subtle balance required to make your city the glorious and eternal sanctuary of the mighty Mayan gods.
Hike! is a light and fast card-drafting racing game with huskies. Players take on the role of mushers (dog drivers) who assemble their husky sleds and race through the snowy wilderness.

They gather the equipment and train their huskies. And then the race is on! The players rely on their huskies's abbilities and the preparations they've taken, a combination of luck and skill that would get them the first across the finish line.
Hike! is a command that mushers (dog drivers) use to start the team.
Skytear Horde is a solo and cooperative card game inspired by tower defense video games. Waves of monsters will siege your castle all the while a sea of minions will pillage all your resources. Choose a legendary hero to rally the troops, defend the walls, and defeat the Outsider. Now go and fight, for the alliance!
The core gameplay of Skytear Horde is the combat between waves of monsters and your hero and troops defending the castle. If you played card battlers like Heartstone or KeyForge, you will find yourself at home.
You lose if your castle is destroyed or if your deck runs out of cards. On the other hand, to win it will not be enough to “just survive” the horde. You will have to find the resources to leave the castle and tear down the gates that are spawning the waves of monsters.
In British English, a city break is a short holiday spent in a city. City breaks are perfect for anyone looking to relax and get away from it all for a few days, as well as seeking out authentic experiences. City Break is about your memories that you are proud of and like to tell people about, and the roles you adopt when you talk about your past travels! You come back from your city breaks very enthusiastic and ready to share them with others. Your memories turn into posts on social media or face-to-face narrations about what you have observed, encountered, or undergone. You have to announce your adventures to the world! And you don't usually tell trivial stories! Who are you when you boast about where you went and what you did or saw? When you talk passionately about the arts, you turn into a Culture Creature. You are also the Royalty Buff who devours biographies of kings and queens and enjoys visiting their castles and palaces. There is an inner Happy Foodie inside you who loves mentioning unique and memorable food and drink experiences. Your social media profiles reveal a Nature Lover who marvels at the mysteries of nature and appreciates natural beauty. Only a Sights Seeker would plan ahead for trips to the world's busiest sights and landmarks. Your followers can't wait to watch live the Motion Addict who loves public transport, the best way to connect to the city.
City Break is a one-of-a-kind puzzle-solving board game specifically designed for a pair of gamers. What makes City Break truly awesome is that it manages to achieve an incredible strategic depth in a two-player setting. City Break is about adapting to new information, making the right choices at the right time, and solving the puzzle of the combinations of available digit-tiles, cards, and action tokens. The game gets more and more intense with each played card, while you have to keep an eye on your opponent's playing space so as not to be surprised by suddenly ending the game!
Players use cards to fill six columns with memories, creating narratives about their past travels. They need to make sure that their narratives are credible, so they must bring them into a state of equilibrium or harmony. The credibility of a narrative is determined by its 3 sub-columns of values. Equilibrium is when a part of your narrative is in balance with the other two parts taken together (for example, B = A + C). Harmony is when two parts of your narrative balance each other out (for example, B = C).
You pursue a diversity of interests when you travel, and you develop new personas when you talk about where you went and what you did or saw. Each of the 6 outlined columns of cards of your tableau corresponds to a + or = represented at the bottom of the 90 personas. Each persona has a combination of 2 + and/or = indicating the 2 narratives you need to be credible. + symbols indicate which narratives you need to bring into equilibrium. = symbols indicate which narratives you need to bring into harmony.
At the end of your turn, if all 6 of your outlined columns of cards either have complete narratives placed on them or are disabled, your opponent gets one final turn. The game then ends and players calculate their final scores.
Your goal is to score the most Victory Points by assembling long credible narratives, developing personas, achieving target values, matching images, and earning titles. Are you quick-witted enough to deal with changing conditions, elements of randomness, and unpredictable opponents? Find out in City Break!

The cast of Fantasy Strike has acquired magical gems which give power, but at what price? Those who hold too many gems are cursed forever. What’s worse, the ultimate gem to rule them all has been forged into a single, mighty scepter. Whoever holds it wields even more power at an even greater price.
In Puzzle Strike 2, players build their deck as they play, giving them the tools to arrange and manipulate their set of colored gems. These gems can be “crashed” (destroyed) in order to build up power for four different super moves as well as to flood other players with more gems. As this process unfolds, gems will fly back and forth between players as they desperately try to remain under the threshold of corruption. Holding the scepter “helps,” but can also doom the greedy.

The dawn of a new age approaches and we stand at the precipice. The unbridled power of nature awakens something within. Mysteries demand to be explored and the results are not always what we expect. Creepy creatures, dangerous devices, precarious potions, CoLaboratory Incorporated provides a shared laboratory space that is the perfect home for your and your outlandish creations.
Build interesting devices that open new possibilities. Brew potions that grant you fantastic on-demand abilities. Create strange monsters and earn great renown. All while keeping an eye on your fellow scientist and their minions. Scientists bring research into the lab to use on their experiments but they are not the only ones who benefit. Occupy a space adjacent to the research dice held by any minion and you can use it for your own creations.
Collect monster, device, or potion dice to generate more research that can be used on your creations.
Expand the laboratory giving everyone new opportunities.
With each new creation, your collection grows and the placement of each creation in your grid can create new opportunities or gain more renown. Once a player builds their 12th creation the end of the game is triggered and the player with the most renown (points) wins.
CoLab worker and dice placement game with dice collection. Players compete to gain the most renown through building monster, device, or potion cards over the course of the game. Each turn you send a minion to a tower space to gather resources or return a minion. Your minions also hold your resource dice. This resource can be used by players at either adjacent laboratory location. Then you place your player miniature on a laboratory location and either put the adjacent minions to work collecting more resources or build cards according to what is available at that lab. As the game progresses the board expands giving new opportunities for all players who visit that location.
Build a wide variety of monsters, potions, and devices or focus on one type to gain the most renown and win the game.
CoLab employs a series of '“take this”' mechanics where players provide resources, minions, or other opportunities to their opponents in exchange for resources or points. Balancing how much you give away with the opportunities your opponents may create is the real trick to becoming the most renowned scientist in CoLab.
